REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative(-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL AND OIL FILTER: REPLACEMENT (2008 Sequoia)+

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

4. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

(a) Remove the dipstick.

(b) Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

(c) Remove the bolt and dipstick guide.

(d) Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.

5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

7. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

8. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

9. REMOVE STARTER COVER

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and starter cover.

10. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the starter connector.

(b) Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.

(c) Remove the water by-pass pipe bolt.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts and starter.

(e) Remove the flywheel housing side cover.
